MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A 15-year-old juvenile has been arrested following a shooting Wednesday afternoon that left one person wounded and at least three homes damaged by gunfire.
Marion Police Department officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired near the intersection of Oak Street and Chestnut Street at approximately 2:15 p.m. Witnesses reported that both a vehicle and pedestrians were involved in the exchange, though all parties had fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Shortly after the initial call, a victim arrived at Marion General Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. The individual was subsequently transported to a Columbus-area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators confirmed that at least three residential structures were struck by bullets during the incident. No other injuries were reported among residents or bystanders.
Detectives have since located and interviewed all individuals believed to be involved. According to preliminary findings, the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between the parties.
While the investigation remains active, police confirmed the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect in connection with the violence. No further names have been released at this time due to the age of the suspect and the ongoing nature of the case.
