BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The case against Patrick Grasley, a Bucyrus resident, has prompted a significant response from the Kalmbach Feeds Company, following one of the most widely circulated court articles on CrawfordCountyNow.com.
Crawford County Now acknowledges the clarification provided by Kalmbach Feeds Company, noting that the reporting stemmed from statements made during court proceedings and placed on record by the court. Testifying before Magistrate Timothy O’Leary, Grasley told the court he was employed by the Kalmbach Feeds Company.
In a letter addressed to Crawford County Now Editor-in-Chief Randy Bigley, the company clarified that Grasley was, in fact, employed by a temporary staffing agency rather than as a direct employee of Kalmbach. According to the letter, Grasley began his assignment through the agency on March 26, 2025, working the second shift and averaging 40-45 hours per week, which provided him ample opportunity to purchase food for his dogs.
While Kalmbach Feeds does not manufacture dog food, the company does sell it, and their facility allows access for any team member or temporary employee to order and purchase products.

Grasley remains in the Crawford County Jail on a bond set at $100,000.
