MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Luke 3:11 Ministries has launched a new initiative, “I Wish for Prom,” aimed at making prom dreams come true for girls from all backgrounds by providing formal gowns, shoes, and custom silk corsages.
The project addresses the financial barriers that can prevent many young girls from attending prom. By collecting gently used formal gowns and distributing them during the local high school prom season, the initiative seeks to empower every girl to attend prom with confidence and grace.
Partnering with local businesses Maddie’s on Main and Finding Center, Luke 3:11 Ministries will host a special spring event at Maddie’s on Main. During this event, girls can select their dream gown from the collection and receive personalized attention from volunteer stylists. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to create their own silk corsages and enter a raffle for dry cleaning and hair styling vouchers from local salons.
“I Wish for Prom” is more than just about dresses; it’s about fostering community support and ensuring every girl feels extraordinary. Local businesses have come together to support this cause, highlighting the power of community and shared purpose. The project also offers a platform for service, uniting fashion enthusiasts and community members in a common goal.
Donations of gently used formal dresses, shoes, and silk flowers can be dropped off at the following locations:
- Maddie’s on Main (Main St)
- Finding Center (Center St)
- Luke 3:11 Ministries headquarters (503 Ballentine Ave)
