MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)— City Hall offices in Marion will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, respectively.

Sanitation collection will not occur on these dates. Residents with Monday sanitation service are asked to place their collections at curbside by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, and Tuesday, Jan. 2. Sanitation crews will collect both Monday and Tuesday’s refuse on these Tuesdays.

In addition, sanitation crews will begin collecting live Christmas trees on Tuesday, Dec. 26, and continue tree collection through January. Residents should place live Christmas trees at curbside on their trash collection day. All lights and decorations must be removed from the tree, and the tree should not be wrapped in plastic.

Marion Area Transit buses will not operate on December 25 and January 1. Normal services will resume on Tuesday, December 26, and Tuesday, January 2.

The Marion Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25, Tuesday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 1. Transportation will be available for dialysis patients only on Dec. 26. All other programs, activities, and transportation will not be available through the Senior Center on these dates.

Necessary services, including police and fire, will operate as usual during the holiday weeks.
