MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion City Schools celebrated the legacies of two beloved community leaders with special ceremonies recognizing their lasting impact on the district and community.

The day began with the dedication of the Mike McCreary District Service Center at 910 East Church Street. Staff, local officials, and community members gathered to honor McCreary’s years of service and commitment to Marion City Schools. The new signage was unveiled during the ceremony, and attendees had a chance to share memories over light refreshments.

Later in the afternoon, the district held the dedication of the Ed Henning Athletic Facility. The event celebrated Henning’s influence on Marion athletics and his dedication to students and sports programs throughout the years. Community members and school leaders came together to reflect on his contributions and to witness the unveiling of the facility’s new signage.
Both ceremonies were heartfelt occasions, highlighting the impact these two leaders had on Marion City Schools and the wider community. The dedications serve as a lasting tribute, ensuring that McCreary and Henning’s legacies will be remembered for years to come.
