MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)- Marion City Hall is welcoming a new face, but not a new name. Michael Bodine II, a seasoned professional with a diverse background in civil design, planning, graphic design, and videography, has been appointed as the new Director of Public Service for Marion City.
Bodine’s career began as a CAD designer for the Fox Surveying Company in Prospect, Ohio. He then transitioned to a civil engineering company in Bucyrus, Ohio, where he was instrumental in numerous planning projects, subdivision/residential designs, and industrial park designs. One of his notable contributions was his involvement in the planning and design of the historic downtown park on the square in Bucyrus, Ohio.
In addition to his civil engineering career, Bodine has a passion for graphic design. For over 20 years, he has been the owner of a graphic design and videography business in Marion. He has created multiple designs and print items for various businesses and community organizations in Marion and the surrounding area.
Bodine served as the Senior Designer for a Columbus-based civil engineering company, contributing to many projects within the cities of Columbus, New Albany, Dublin, and Westerville, as well as The Ohio State University. “My biggest accomplishment while working as a senior designer was the knowledge I learned about civil engineering, design, working with city officials, and creating dynamic preliminary designs for large-scale projects such as the New Albany Company,” Bodine said.
With his extensive experience and passion for the city, Bodine is poised to be a valuable asset to Marion’s future development and growth. “I believe my background and experience has prepared me very well for the City of Marion’s Director of Public Service.
