MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Late last September, the Marion Community Foundation Board of Directors awarded a $5,000 grant to Project S.E.R.V.E. as part of its 2024-2025 Community Grants Program. This generous funding, combined with a donation from Pillar Credit Union, has enabled the initiative to create and distribute free T-shirts to children in the community.

Project S.E.R.V.E. plans to make a significant impact this year by participating in various local events, with a primary focus on the upcoming “Basketball for Youth Tour.” This tour will take place across all Marion County villages that feature basketball hoops, providing a fun and engaging opportunity for local youth.

Details regarding dates, times, and locations for the basketball games will be announced soon. In addition to the T-shirts, the project will also offer a limited number of basketballs to children in need at these events, ensuring that everyone has the chance to participate.

Pillar Credit Union will be contributing to the cause by providing pizza for attendees, while Peacock Water has generously agreed to donate water for the game nights.

Project S.E.R.V.E. organizers are excited about the upcoming events and encourage community members to join in the fun. They hope to see many familiar faces at the games this year!
