MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion City Councilman Ayers Ratliff, 47, had his bond set on Tuesday morning in the Marion Municipal Court. Ratliff faces charges of Rape, a first-degree felony involving a victim under the age of 15. Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan, in a news release, expressed his intention to request a substantial bond. The bond for Ratliff was established at $500,000.00.
In the event that Ratliff is able to post bond, measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the victim with a protective order.
Prompt action was taken by the victim, who immediately reported the incident to authorities, leading to Ratliff’s arrest on the previous evening.
A search of Ratliff’s residence yielded physical and electronic evidence, as confirmed by law enforcement.
