MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—In recognition of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) is joining communities nationwide in the “Paint the Town Orange” campaign to raise awareness and promote inclusivity for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Throughout March, the MCBDD is encouraging residents and local businesses to participate by wearing orange, a color symbolizing support for people with developmental disabilities. The initiative aims to highlight the importance of understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with varying abilities.

The campaign is a way for the community to come together and show solidarity in creating a more inclusive environment for all individuals. By simply wearing orange, everyone can help spread the message that people with developmental disabilities have the same rights and deserve the same opportunities as anyone else.

The Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities encourages everyone to wear their orange on March 7, 2025, and participate in the “Paint the Town Orange” campaign. Together, we can make a difference and continue building a stronger, more inclusive community for all.
