MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion County Dog Pound is looking to clear its kennels for the holidays by hosting a fully sponsored adoption event this Sunday, Dec. 7, giving area residents a chance to take home a new best friend at no cost.

The “Paw-Liday” adoption event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the Marion County Dog Pound, located at 2252 Richland Rd., Marion, OH 43302.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Pet Supplies Plus and El Campesino, the adoption fees for all dogs will be covered.

Each adoption package for pre-approved applicants includes significant value beyond the dog itself, featuring a spay/neuter voucher, vaccinations, a heartworm test, microchip, a 2026 dog tag, and a free bag of food.

The event is designed to create a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors can meet the adoptable dogs and enjoy food from the Slap Yo Self food truck, which will be on-site.

For those unable to adopt, the shelter is encouraging the community to ask about fostering or volunteer opportunities to help the dogs find loving homes.
