MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion County Dog Pound has 25 furry little friends that need a warm and loving furever home.  Stop in and see if one would be a wonderful addition to the family.

We are going to spotlight three beautiful pups full of personality, Loki, Livvi, and Rowdy.

Loki

Loki is a male pit mix that is 60 pounds of hunk. According to the Dog Pound, Loki’s owner passed away, and he was left in the care of a relative.  The relative allegedly gave Loki away without knowing the person’s name and he was later picked up running loose.  Loki is a happy and wiggly boy – despite losing his human.  He was understandably afraid and had his guard up when he first arrived but the more we get to know him, the harder we fall in love.  Loki might have some separation anxiety and can climb a six-foot chain-link fence if he is left unattended, so he would love to find an adopter who will spend some quality time with him outside and take him on walks. He can easily shred tennis balls and should not be left alone with breakable toys.

Livvi

Livvi is a 55lb pit mix who had been staying at a hotel with her owner when they called her in as a “stray.”  She was so shy when she first came in, but the more time she spends with us, the more her real personality blossoms.  She is still adjusting to life at the pound, but even in this unfamiliar setting she has been nothing but sweet.  She loves to play with toys and spend time with her people, and she is clearly dreaming of somewhere more permanent.  Livvi is happy to do meet-and-greets with kids and other dogs, and she is more than ready to check out of her current accommodations.  Come and meet her and let’s find her the stability she has been waiting for.

Rowdy

Last, we have Rowdy who is a mixed breed. This 55lb one year old is sweet but is true to his name.  He has a zest for life and believes that everyone wants to be greeted with a body slam. He arrived at the pound as a stray with is buddy, who the pound has named MooShu.  Rowdy likes to act tough around other male pound dogs and thinks he is “top dog” around there, so he might do best in a home without other dominant males, but he is open to meeting females and male dogs that will accept him as their pack leader.

You can come visit Rowdy, Livvi, or Loki at the Marion County Pound at 2252 Richland Rd, Marion OH 43302 or call 740-386-6150.  They are open Monday through Friday noon-6pm and Saturday noon-4pm.  They are closed on Sundays.  They will also be closed for selected hours during the holidays.
