MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—On Tuesday, Officer Rector and Lt. Harris of the Marion Police Department participated in an impactful session with around 50 men from various parts of the state at the North Central Correctional Institution.
The gathering was part of a program designed to support these individuals as they prepare for their transition back to society following their release from prison.
During the session, Officer Rector and Lt. Harris spoke about the importance of effective communication with law enforcement and provided insights into navigating interactions with police officers. The discussion lasted over an hour and allowed for an open dialogue, during which numerous questions were raised by the participants.
The engagement was not only an informative experience but also a step towards fostering understanding between law enforcement and those preparing for reintegration into the community.
