MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion Police Department has arrested an 87-year-old man in connection with a felony public indecency incident that occurred on January 29, 2025. The arrest follows a report of a suspicious white Hyundai that was seen following a student home from Grant Middle School.
In response to the complaint, Marion PD ramped up patrols around Grant Middle School on Thursday morning to ensure the safety of students as they arrived for classes.
Utilizing the Flock camera system, officers were able to identify a potential suspect in the case.
With the cooperation of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, police located Wayne Lee Barrows, a resident of Bucyrus, who was arrested for a parole violation in Crawford County.
Marion police traveled to the county to conduct an interview with Barrows.
As a result of the investigation, Barrows was charged with public indecency, a fifth-degree felony.
He has been transported to the Marion Multi-County Corrections Center, where he is currently being held on both the parole violation and the new felony charge.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
