MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion Police Department is inviting all former employees to a reunion on October 1, 2025, at the police department headquarters.

The event, which will include a complimentary lunch, aims to reconnect former colleagues and honor their service to the community.

The reunion’s agenda features a tour of the updated police station and a presentation by Major Shaffer.

Major Shaffer will discuss the advancements in technology now used by modern-day officers, offering a glimpse into the evolution of law enforcement tools and techniques.

For retirees interested in maintaining their qualifications, a Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) qualification session will also be offered. Those who wish to participate must register in advance via email and bring their own weapon and frangible ammunition.

“We are looking forward to seeing our teammates from years past and reconnecting with those who have protected and served our community,” said Chief McDonald.

To ensure an accurate headcount for lunch and to register for the LEOSA qualification, former employees should email Chief McDonald at jmcdonald@marionohio.org. Please specify in the email if you plan to attend the reunion and if you will be participating in the LEOSA qualification.
