MARION OH, (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Last night, Marion Police Officers conducted a warrant check at a local establishment, leading to an unexpected arrest. Officer Geurkink noticed a suspicious individual who quickly entered an “employees only” area. Upon confrontation, the individual fled, prompting a pursuit by Officer Geurkink and Officer Galyk.

The officers swiftly apprehended the individual, who was found to be carrying a loaded pistol and an additional high-capacity magazine. The quick thinking and action of the officers prevented a potentially dangerous situation from escalating.

“We are grateful this did not end any worse than it did,” said a spokesperson for the police department. “Great work to Officer Geurkink and Officer Galyk for taking a dangerous individual off the street.”

Crawford County Now will have more details when they become available.
