MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion Board of Elections reported a voter turnout of 21.37% with all 45 precincts reporting. Out of 38,916 registered voters, 8,315 cast their ballots in the recent election.

County Commissioner Race

In the race for County Commissioner, Republican candidate Andy Appelfeller emerged victorious, securing 53.47% of the votes. Appelfeller received 3,229 votes out of a total of 6,039, defeating his opponent, Timothy D. Mooney, who garnered 2,810 votes, accounting for 46.53% of the total.

Republican Kevin Davidson also won in the County Commissioner race with 39.51% of the vote. Davidson received 2,338 votes out of 5,918 total votes, defeating his opponents Kerr E. Murray, who garnered 1,755 votes, accounting for 29.66% total votes, and Jason Schaber with 1,825 votes with 30.84% of the vote.

Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas

In the race for the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, Republican candidate Jessica Wallace ran unopposed. Wallace received all 5,274 votes cast for the position.
