MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The city of Marion has garnered national attention after advancing to the Final Four in the Strongest Town Contest, a nationwide competition recognizing cities with innovative and resilient urban development strategies.

Marion is the only city in Ohio to reach this stage of the contest, organized by Strong Towns, a national nonprofit organization. The city’s success in the competition has sparked a wave of local pride and a push for widespread community support.

Voting for the Final Four round closes Thursday at 1 p.m. If Marion wins, it will advance to the championship round, with voting scheduled for Monday through Thursday of the following week, also closing at 1 p.m.

They are also encouraging people to share the news via email and social media, and to display posters promoting Marion’s participation. Yard signs with the slogan “Hope Is Marion’s Economy” are also available.

“We are incredibly proud of Marion’s achievement and we’re asking for everyone’s support to help us reach the championship round,” said a city representative.
