MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (MACVB) Board of Directors announced today the upcoming retirement of its Executive Director, Bev Ford, capping a career dedicated to the cultural and economic vitality of her hometown.
Ford, who joined the MACVB in January 2022, brought over two decades of expertise in community engagement and the arts. Before her tenure at the Bureau, she served for 22 years at the historic Marion Palace Theatre, including a decade as its Executive Director. During her leadership at the MACVB, Ford was instrumental in launching marketing initiatives that positioned Marion as a premier destination in North Central Ohio, highlighting its unique history and local assets.
“Marion has always been home for me,” Ford said. “It has been a true joy—and an honor—to serve this community. I look forward to seeing Marion continue to grow and thrive.”
Brenda Gilliam, Chair of the MACVB Board, praised Ford’s impact, stating that her ability to “tell Marion’s story” has built a strong foundation for the future of local tourism.
The MACVB Board of Directors will begin a formal search for Ford’s successor starting May 1. Ford will remain in her position during the transition period to ensure a seamless handoff.
