MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Mike Bodine, the current Director of Public Service for the City of Marion, has officially announced his resignation. Appointed to the role in January 2024, Bodine’s tenure sparked significant initiatives within the city.
Before joining the Marion administration, Bodine garnered extensive experience as a multimedia designer for Whirlpool Corporation, where he worked from 2021 to 2024.
His diverse background also includes 15 years in civil design, providing him with knowledge and experience in urban management.
In a statement regarding Bodine’s departure, Marion Mayor Bill Collins confirmed that Bodine will conclude his duties on February 13th.
He noted: “Mike has in fact put in his notice. He is moving back into the line of work he did for years prior to coming to the city—planning and consulting.”
Mayor Collins expressed both his support for Bodine’s decision and his regret at losing him, stating, “It is a great move for him and his family, and I wish him all the best. We will find someone to take his place, but not like Mike! He has a passion for this City that is as strong as mine!”
Marion County Now will continue to follow this developing story as more details emerge about Bodine’s future plans and the city’s search for his replacement.
