MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Mayor Bill Collins has announced that leaf collection for city residents will begin on Monday, October 14, and continue through Friday, December 6, 2024. Residents have three options for leaf disposal:
- Tree Lawn Collection: Leaves can be placed in the tree lawn area to be vacuumed. A vacuum-type collector will gather leaves raked to the tree lawn area throughout the leaf pick-up season. Note: Leaves should not be raked into city streets or parking lanes as this can pose safety hazards and block water flow to catch basins, preventing proper drainage.
- Biodegradable Paper Bags: Residents can place leaves in biodegradable paper bags for city pick-up, adhering to the yard waste pick-up limit of three bags per week. These bags are available at local retail stores and should be placed curbside for collection.
- Drop-Off at 560 Barks Rd. W.: Leaves in biodegradable paper bags can be taken to Outdoor Resource Supply at 560 Barks Rd. W. This free drop-off site is open to city residents. Verification of residency and weighing of items by an employee are required. Note: Leaves in non-biodegradable bags must be emptied during drop-off.
