MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The parking lot at McKinley Elementary School transformed into a Halloween wonderland Tuesday evening as families gathered for the school’s annual trunk-or-treat event. Children in colorful costumes filled the space with laughter and excitement, their candy bags jingling against a backdrop of bright autumn leaves.
Cars lined the lot, each decorated with creativity and care. A “101 Dalmatians” theme drew plenty of attention as Cruella de Vil and a pack of playful pups handed out treats, their black-and-white spots standing out against the fall foliage. Nearby, Sparky the Fire Dog posed for photos with kids dressed as skeletons, superheroes, and princesses, spreading smiles and Halloween cheer.
Parents and volunteers joined in the fun, dressing up and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that captured the heart of small-town community spirit. From toddlers clutching pumpkin pails to older kids comparing candy hauls, the joy of the evening was contagious.
The event brought together families, teachers, and local first responders for a safe and festive night of Halloween celebration. As the evening wound down, laughter echoed through the crisp fall air, leaving everyone with sweet memories and a renewed sense of togetherness that defines the Mc Kinley Elementary community.
