MORROW COUNTY (MARION COUNTY NOW)—On November 5, voters in Morrow County will have the opportunity to decide on several key issues that could impact the community.
One of the significant measures on the ballot is a request from the Big Walnut Joint Fire District for an additional levy of 2.5 mils. The funds generated from this levy will be allocated to hire two new Firefighter/EMS employees. For homeowners, the cost of this levy will amount to approximately $87 per $100,000 of property value.
In addition, voters will consider the renewal of a 0.5 mil levy for the Ohio State University (OSU) Extension. The Morrow County OSU Extension services play a vital role in the community, offering programs in 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Community Development, and SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education.
As the election approaches, Morrow County residents are encouraged to participate in the voting process.
