BUCYRUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A Bucyrus man was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of State Route 4 and State Route 294 on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:49 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2025. Emergency responders from the Bucyrus EMS, Dallas Township Fire Department, and Bucyrus Township Fire Department arrived on scene alongside Sheriff Scott Kent and deputies.
Preliminary investigation revealed that William Schoonard, 48, of Marion, Ohio, was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on SR 4 and was attempting to turn east onto SR 294. Bradley Dennany, 29, of Bucyrus, was also traveling southbound on SR 4 on a 2017 Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle and attempted to pass Schoonard’s vehicle during the turn.
Dennany’s motorcycle struck the driver’s side front of the Trailblazer, resulting in his ejection from the bike. Both Dennany and the motorcycle continued off the roadway and came to rest in a nearby yard. Authorities confirmed Dennany was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Crawford County Coroner Chris Johnson pronounced Dennany deceased at the scene. Schoonard sustained minor injuries and was treated on-site.
Lohr’s Towing removed both vehicles from the scene. The crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
