COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)– State Rep. Riordan McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) has announced a significant boost for local county fairs in Ohio. The Crawford, Marion, Morrow, and Wyandot county fairs are set to receive funding as part of the Ohio County and Independent Fairs Grant Program.

The grants, totaling approximately $106,831.54 each, will support a variety of projects aimed at improving the fairground experience for visitors. These include the construction of new grandstands, repairing or replacing dilapidated buildings, and the creation of new or improved restroom facilities. The funding will also enhance parking and camping sites and make ADA accessibility improvements.

The recipients of these grants, the Crawford County Agricultural Society, Marion County Agricultural Society, Morrow County Agricultural Society, and Wyandot County, are all expected to use the funds for fairground improvements.

“The county fair is a staple of our communities,” said McClain. “Making improvements to our fairgrounds will ensure that fairgoers have a great experience and create new, life-long memories.”

In total, $10 million was awarded to support Ohio’s 94 county and independent fairs across the state, marking a significant investment in these cherished community events.
