MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The much-anticipated farmers market season has officially begun in Ohio, bringing with it a bounty of fresh produce and a unique opportunity for seniors. April Morrison, manager of the Caledonia Farmers Market, is set to assist seniors in applying for a $50 voucher card through the Ohio Farmer’s Market Network.
The voucher card program is an initiative aimed at promoting healthy eating among seniors while supporting local farmers. Seniors can use the voucher card to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and other produce at participating farmers markets across Ohio.
Morrison will be available at the Marion Public Library on the following dates and times to assist seniors in signing up for their voucher card:
- Thursday, June 13: 9:30 – 11:30am
- Monday, June 17: 11:30 – 1:30pm
- Thursday, June 20: 9:30am – 11:30am
Seniors are encouraged to stop by during these times to get assistance in signing up for their voucher card. This is a great opportunity to not only support local agriculture but also to enjoy the health benefits of fresh, locally grown produce.
