COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Gas prices in Ohio have seen a slight increase in early May 2025, with the average price per gallon reaching $3.20 as of May 5, according to data from YCharts.

This marks a modest rise from the previous week’s average of $3.07
The fluctuation in prices is attributed to a combination of factors, including changes in crude oil prices and seasonal demand variations. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that the national average for regular gasoline also experienced a slight decrease, landing at $3.15
Despite the increase, Ohio’s gas prices remain relatively stable compared to the same period last year. Analysts suggest that the upcoming summer travel season could lead to further price adjustments as demand typically rises during this time.

Gas prices in Marion County range from $2.90-$3.11 a gallon, according to Gas Buddy.
