MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State University at Marion and Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen will host the next installment of their lecture series, Buckeye Talks on Tap, featuring Ohio State Marion Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Qudsia Tahmina.
Tahmina will present “Engineering a Better Marion” at The Dock at Bucci’s, located at 320 W. Center St., on Tuesday, April 8, at 5:30 p.m.
The event, formerly known as Lectures on Tap, is free and open to the public. Wayne Rowe, Ohio State Marion’s Director of Communications and Marketing, said the lecture will be of particular interest to Marion area residents, community leaders, and government officials interested in the city’s future.
Tahmina will discuss current trends in engineering and how to build a technologically advanced and thriving city, focusing on practical applications for both literal and metaphorical ecosystems.
Buckeye Talks on Tap is held the second Tuesday of each month at Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen. The series is modeled after the Science Cafe concept, which promotes informal discussions between experts and the community in casual settings.
Ohio State faculty and other community experts share research and scholarly information on various topics, including the environment, astronomy, agronomy, health and wellness, linguistics, crime, engineering, food safety, and Ohio migration patterns. The goal is to foster open discussions on timely and thought-provoking topics.
Doors open at 5 p.m., allowing attendees to order food and drinks before the 5:30 p.m. lecture. A question-and-answer session will follow at 6 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to win a door prize provided by Marcie DeWitt from Anchor and Away Travel.
