MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Office of Development and Community Relations at The Ohio State University at Marion has announced that it is now accepting nominations for the prestigious Ohio State Marion Alumni Hall of Fame. The nomination period is open until June 7, 2024.
The Ohio State Marion’s awards program recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to their professions or communities. Notable past inductees include Carol Bowman, Dr. Heidi Ries, Larry Kline, Gary Sims, Dr. Russell H. Tuttle, Dr. Andrew M. Vick, Dr. Deirdre Radosevich, and Roger George.
Alumni may be nominated posthumously, and individuals are encouraged to nominate multiple alumni. Each nominee requires a separate nomination form, which can be submitted through an online form available at Ohio State Marion’s website.
The criteria for election to the Alumni Hall of Fame include successful completion of a minimum of two semesters or three quarters of full-time study at Ohio State Marion, attendance at the university 15 or more years ago, and significant professional, personal, or community contributions.
The selection committee will review all nominations and select a pool of final candidates. Nominees or their representatives will be asked to submit a personal statement and contact information for two references who can speak to the nominee’s achievements. The winner will be announced publicly in September, with the award presented at a special Alumni Awards Reception in the fall at Ohio State Marion.
Nominations not selected will be kept on file for a minimum of three years, and nominators may update the file annually. For more information, please visit the Ohio State Marion website.
