MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Downtown Marion is gearing up for another season of its popular 3rd Thursdays event series, bringing live music, food, vendors, and family fun to the heart of the city from May through September.
Held on the third Thursday of each month, the community-centered events transform the downtown area into a lively hub, attracting both locals and visitors. Attendance typically ranges from 2,500 to 3,000 people per event.
Attendees can look forward to live performances from local bands, a dedicated Kids’ Play Zone, and a wide variety of food and drink options from area eateries and vendors. Participating downtown businesses, including boutiques, restaurants, and bars, will stay open late, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
A key feature of 3rd Thursdays is the highlighting of Marion’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), which allows visitors to enjoy beverages purchased from participating establishments while exploring the festivities. The event has become an integral part of Downtown Marion’s cultural identity, reinforcing its role as a social and entertainment destination.
“Get ready for some summer fun! 3rd Thursdays are back in downtown Marion!” organizers announced.
The season kicks off on Thursday, May 15, with a “Spring Fling” theme. This year’s events promise to be even bigger, featuring:
- MaxAiir Party Rentals & Inflatapark: FREE bounce houses and interactive inflatables for children.
- Food Trucks: A diverse selection of delicious food options.
- Free Live Music: Performances from talented local bands.
- Downtown Marion Inc.’s 50/50 Raffle: An opportunity to win big.
