MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—In a surprising announcement, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit in Marion has closed its doors just hours before its scheduled opening on Thursday. Employees were informed of the closure via text message.

In a public statement, Ray Ray’s confirmed the abrupt decision and revealed the immediate closure of its Marion and Johnstown locations, with plans to close the Linworth site later this month. The statement read:

“BACK TO OUR ROOTS. We have some bittersweet news to share. Our Johnstown and Marion locations closed their doors on November 12, 2025, and our Linworth location will also close later this month.”

The restaurant aims to refocus its efforts on providing award-winning BBQ at its Columbus and Granville locations.”

The message emphasized the company’s commitment to serving its loyal customers and continuing to create the flavors and experiences that define Ray Ray’s legacy.

James Anderson, owner of Ray Ray’s, expressed gratitude for the community’s support over the years, noting, “It has been an honor to serve these communities, and we are excited to create new memories with you at our Columbus and Granville locations, where we will continue to bring the smoke, the flavor, and the hospitality you have come to expect!”
