MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—On Monday afternoon, the royalty contest for the Marion County Fair took place and a new king and queen was chosen for this year.

Taking on the role as king is Jackson Kloha.  Jackson is 17 years old and attends River Valley High School.  He is looking forward to the experiences he will have.

“My hopes for this year are to attend a lot of fairs, meet new people, and see new things.”

Jackson is a part of the Prime Cuts 4-H club.  At the fair, he has goats, ducks, and turkeys.

Jackson likes that being the Marion County Fair King offers a cool opportunity in different places.

“I like the idea of going to different fairs and seeing what they are like, as well as, getting to meet some of the other royalty out there.”

Becca Baldinger is taking on the role as queen.  Becca is 17 years old and attends River Valley High School.  She is looking forward to a great fair and a great season of being the queen.

“I want to be a good representative of our fair.  I also want to go to other fairs and learn more about them.”

Becca is a member of the Marion County Sharp-Shooters and River Valley FFA.  She has market goats as her project at the fair.

She wants to use being the queen as a way of being a role model.

“I want to be a good representative of our county.”
