MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Second Annual Donate to Dunk event made a significant splash on Thursday, August 21, at Founders Park, raising $10,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County. The community fundraiser brought together over 150 attendees to cheer on local leaders and volunteers who took a turn in the dunk tank to support youth programs.
The total funds raised were bolstered by generous matches from corporate sponsors, including a $2,500 match from United Federal Credit Union and a $1,500 match from Modern Woodmen of America.
“This event is such a joyful reminder of what happens when a community comes together for a cause that matters,” said Amy Marshall, United’s Branch Manager. “We’re proud to support the Boys & Girls Club and help create opportunities for the youth of Marion County.”

Leslie Schneider, Interim Chief Advancement Officer at the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County, also expressed gratitude for the community’s support. “The energy and heart at this event were incredible. Every splash represented a step toward a brighter future for the kids we serve. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, donated, and helped make this night unforgettable.”
The funds will directly benefit the more than 800 youth served annually through the club’s after-school and summer programs. The money will support Future Ready Youth programming, which focuses on providing academic assistance, workforce readiness skills, emotional wellness resources, and leadership opportunities.
The Boys & Girls Club extended thanks to all the event sponsors, including Luke Henry – Henry Development Group, Christine Hinton – eXp Realty, Kathie Reed – Modern Woodmen, Megan Wilson – Custom Professional Accounting Powered by Alluvial Tax & Planning, and United Federal Credit Union.
