Sharon Belle Hunt, age 81, of Marion went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday 6/16/2024 peacefully in her home. She was born in Marion, Ohio on January 17, 1943 to the late Sanders Corbin and Miriam M. (Mclaughlin) Bowman. Sharon graduated in 1961 from Pleasant High school and then married John Ed Hunt on February 10, 1962.

Her joy in this life was to love and serve her family as she did her Lord and Savior Jesus. She was always giving and sacrificing for her family and friends. Mom never met a stranger and she was always giving out hugs even if you didn’t want one. She also enjoyed playing many games like Euchre, Uno, Rummy, Old Maid, Quiddler and many more. She was literally up to playing any game at anytime. She just loved playing and enjoying time with her friends and family. Her greatest joy came from when she could spend time with her grandchidren and great grandchildren.

She worked at Montgomery Ward in Marion for a short time. After her children were in school, she worked off and on at Whirlpool for multiple years.

She is survived by her husband John Ed Hunt and their 3 children Rita (Greg) Clark of Marion, Ohio, Steve (Lisa) Hunt of Marion Ohio and Ronda and late (Mel)Collum of Marysville, Ohio.

She is survived by 1 sister: Melba Westbrook of Marion, Ohio. She has 5 grandchildren Holly Shumaker (Brian), Cameron Collum (Stephanie), Seth Hunt, Timothy (Colleen) Clark and Sheldon (Paige) Collum. 4 great grandchildren, Connor and Elliot Shumaker and Maelynn and Ava Collum. Sharon was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Eugene & Gary Bowman and 2 sisters; Sandra A. Mattix and Janice Hoffman.

Viewing and funeral services will be held at Marion Day Spring Wesleyan Church 2431 Marion-Mt Gilead Rd, Marion, OH 43302 on Friday June 21. Viewing with the family will be from 11 a.m – 1 pm and the celebration service will start at 1 pm and then she will be rested at Brush Ridge Cemetery. The family prefers contributions in Sharon’s name may be made to the Day Spring Wesleyan Church Youth Program.
