MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW) – A journey through Marion’s rich history is now available in the form of a book, filled with historic images and details. Local historian and author Randy Winland has released his sixth book, “Marion, Ohio Then & Now – A Photographic Remembrance,” offering a visual narrative of Marion’s past 200 years.

The book features over 175 images of Marion buildings, some dating back to 1830, each accompanied by a brief history and a current view. The compilation is a result of extensive research, including more than 2,000 newspaper clippings, maps, and other publications.

Winland, a recognized expert on Marion history, will present an informative and entertaining talk at the book release event on May 30 at the Tri-Rivers Career Center auditorium. The event, which begins at 7pm, is free and open to the public.

The book will be available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds going towards the programs and activities of the Marion County Historical Society.
