MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State University at Marion has hired Carlyn Bower as the new case manager in the campus Counseling and Wellness Center. Bower will serve students at both Ohio State Marion and Marion Technical College, connecting them with mental health and wellness services both on and off campus.
Bower is a familiar face on campus, having recently completed an internship in a similar role with the Counseling and Wellness Center as part of her master’s program. A native of Marion and a graduate of Pleasant High School, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Miami University in December 2022 and a master’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University in spring 2025.
“I am excited to be able to connect with more students and to be able to come up with creative new ideas for the campus and the Counseling and Wellness department,” said Bower.
In her free time, Bower enjoys journaling, painting, and other artistic activities, as well as spending time with family and friends.
