MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion Harding High School senior Kendall Gibson was named Scholar Student of the Week and awarded a $500 scholarship from The Ohio State University at Marion. The award was presented by Karlie Marlatt and Brooke Herchik, representing Ohio State Marion. This honor recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to school involvement.
Gibson has distinguished herself academically throughout her high school career. A member of the National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society, she has also participated in Concert Orchestra for four years. Gibson maintains a 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a 5.388 GPA on an 8.0 scale, while taking some of Marion Harding’s most rigorous coursework, including Pre-AP, AP, and College Credit Plus (CCP) classes.
In addition to her academic success, Gibson has earned multiple diploma seals, including Citizenship, College Ready, Fine and Performing Arts, and Science. Her artistic talent has been recognized locally, with her artwork selected for the Marion County Art Show and published in Marion Harding’s Studio H magazine.
After graduation, Gibson plans to attend The Ohio State University at Marion, where she hopes to pursue a career that blends her interests in coding, art, and gaming.
Each Scholar Student of the Week honoree receives a $500 scholarship and is entered into a drawing for a chance to win an additional $1,000 scholarship at the end of the academic year.
