MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A Marion woman died early Friday morning from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash late Thursday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at approximately 9:42 p.m. on West Columbia Street in the City of Marion.

The crash involved a 2012 Jaguar XJ, driven by Kaleb Leeth, 23, of Perrysburg, Ohio. The right front passenger was identified as Colleen Foster, 40, of Marion, Ohio.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Leeth was traveling westbound on West Columbia Street when he struck a parked and unoccupied 2005 Honda Odyssey on the north side of the roadway.

Leeth sustained minor injuries and was transported to Marion General Hospital by Marion City EMS. Foster sustained serious injuries and was also transported to Marion General Hospital before being taken by ground to Grant Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The patrol noted that impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion City Police Department, Marion City Fire and EMS, and Ron’s Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
