MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Just after midnight Monday, Sept. 22, Marion Police officers were investigating a reported assault and aggravated burglary in the 140 block of North Grand Avenue.

As officers spoke with witnesses on the porch of a nearby home, a vehicle drove past and opened fire, targeting the two officers and four civilians.

Though multiple rounds struck the residence and nearby objects, all six people avoided injury from the gunfire. One officer, however, sustained a minor injury from flying debris.

Utilizing investigative tools, including Flock, police identified the vehicle. They later located it parked in the 500 block of Park Street, where three males were taken into custody.

Police arrested and charged the following two individuals:

  • Isaiah D. Redmon, 24, of Marion, charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, felonious assault of a police officer, discharging a firearm into a habitation, and aggravated burglary.
  • Tanner M. Harden, 16, also of Marion, charged with complicity to the aforementioned crimes.

A third individual was released after providing a statement to investigators.

The case has been referred to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for review and the filing of formal charges.
