Ms. McCormack succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at Grant Medical Center.

 

MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A serious injury crash that occurred on June 8, 2024, on State Route 37 in Marion County is currently under investigation by troopers from the Marion Post.

The incident took place at approximately 12:18 AM and involved a 2018 Harley Davidson FLHTKL Ultra Limited Low motorcycle.

The motorcycle was being driven by Jason M. Edwards, a 51-year-old resident of Marion, Ohio, with Danielle N. McCormack, a 38-year-old from LaRue, Ohio, as the rear passenger.

According to preliminary investigations, Mr. Edwards was traveling northbound on State Route 37 when a deer suddenly entered the roadway. Mr. Edwards struck the deer, causing the Harley Davidson to overturn onto its side.

As a result of the crash, Mr. Edwards sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported by Marion Township EMS to Marion General Hospital. Ms. McCormack, on the other hand, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Marion General Hospital by Scioto Valley EMS.

Subsequently, both individuals were airlifted to Grant Medical Center for further medical treatment.

Neither Mr. Edwards nor Ms. McCormack were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol received assistance at the scene from Scioto Valley Fire and EMS, Marion Township EMS, and Ron’s Towing.
