Viola Rose (Cochenour) Orr, age 86, of Marion, OH passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Georgia. Viola was born to the late Robert and Ruth Cochenour on September 28, 1938, in Chillicothe, OH.
Viola worked as a licensed practical nurse for Marion General Hospital for 51 years. She loved to cook for her family and loved animals. She was a fan of the arts and would travel down to Columbus to go to the Kenley Players Theatre to see their shows whenever she got the chance. During her younger years she greatly enjoyed doing ceramics. She was also a collector of Barbie Dolls and had over 200 of them still in the box in mint condition. Viola also loved her granddaughter very much and enjoyed spending as much time with her as possible during the winter months when she would go visit her daughter.
Viola is preceded in death by husband Alva Orr and sister Helen Cochenour.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Teresa “Terri” (Richard) Jones, brother Donald Cochenour, nephews, Robert and Gene Tenner, sister in law, Joann Orr, bother in law, Lovell Parker, granddaughter, Amber Jones and her four legged kids Sweetie Pie and Gracie Alan.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation for Viola from 10am until 11am at the Boyd Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. There will be a graveside service for Viola at Grand Prairie Cemetery on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 11:30am with Pastor Scott Sloan Officienating Per the wishes of Viola the family has asked that no flower be sent but instead donation be made to local animal shelters. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting he family of Viola Orr during their time of mourning.
