MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford-Marion Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board is highlighting the importance of an upcoming replacement levy on the Marion County ballot, noting the funds are critical to maintaining the county’s safety net for mental health and addiction services.

Brad DeCamp, representing ADAMH, stated that the levy provides approximately 20% of the board’s overall budget and funds a full range of services, including prevention, mental health counseling, and substance use disorder treatment.

“The levy funds a lot of key important services,” DeCamp said, emphasizing the focus on youth-led prevention through the Marion Crawford Prevention Program’s Teen Institute.

The funding also supports treatment agencies like Marion Area Counseling under 3rd Street and Ohio Guidestone, providing care for uninsured or underinsured residents. The levy also helps fund a mobile crisis response team and a traumatic loss team that assists families affected by overdose or suicide.

DeCamp asked voters to consider the levy’s impact on first responders and schools, noting that a failure to pass the measure would result in service reductions on top of recent state cuts.
