MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion Technical College (MTC) is seeing a surge in non-traditional students and dual-enrollment success as it expands its academic catalog to include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specialized micro-certificates.
College officials Tony and Michael highlighted the success of the College Credit Plus program during a recent “Community Spotlight” session. The program currently allows more than 40 area students annually to earn their associate degree free of charge before they even receive their high school diplomas.
“It is a jump start on your career,” said Tony, noting that the college remains a cost-effective alternative to traditional four-year institutions. MTC currently maintains tuition at approximately $215 per credit hour, allowing students to complete a full degree for under $18,000.
Beyond traditional degrees, the college is leaning into immediate workforce needs with new programs in massage therapy, exercise science, and early childhood education. For those seeking faster entry into the job market, MTC now offers micro-certificates that can be completed in as few as one to four classes.
The college is also inviting the public to “Leaders Day” on April 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature open labs, food trucks, and 30-minute demonstrations in engineering, IT, and healthcare.
Registration for summer courses is currently open. Prospective students are encouraged to visit MTC.edu for enrollment information.
