COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW) — The Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor will hold its 26th annual induction ceremony on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend the event, which will also be live streamed at ohiochannel.org.
This year’s class of 19 honorees includes veterans from the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terror. Twelve of the inductees will be honored posthumously, with six having been killed in combat.

These Ohioans are recognized for performing heroically in specific combat actions against armed enemies of the United States. Their valorous actions earned them commendations such as the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, the Legion of Merit with Combat Designation, Bronze Star with “V” device, and the Navy/Marine Achievement Medal with “V” device. Many of the inductees received multiple awards for their bravery. All were either born in Ohio or entered military service from the state.

The 2025 inductees have connections to the following Ohio cities and towns: Akron, Ashtabula, Bainbridge, Circleville, Columbus, Galena, Germantown, Independence, Marion, Marysville, North Royalton, Radnor, Spring Valley, Upper Arlington, Warren, and Worthington.
This year’s ceremony will bring the total number of inductees in the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor to 517, including 20 Medal of Honor recipients.

Established in 2000, the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor recognizes Ohio servicemen and women who have been decorated for heroism in combat situations. More information about the organization and its inductees can be found at ohioheroes.org.
