MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion’s own Caelyn Clark, a determined 15-year-old boxer, is making waves in the boxing world.
Caelyn was inspired to pursue boxing after witnessing her brother, Ezekiel Clark, compete at the Ohio State Fair last year.
Caelyn’s boxing journey took off with a walkover victory at the Buster Douglas Holiday Showcase in December 2024. She quickly proved her talent in February, defeating Cheyanne Connor, the daughter of a professional boxer, and earning her first championship belt—making her the first female to bring home a belt to Marion.
Despite setbacks in later matches against experienced boxers Mia Miller at the Cincinnati Golden Gloves and at the Arnold Sports Festival, where she faced defeats, Caelyn’s resilience shone through. She persevered and earned a TKO victory in the second round against Emma Muller at the Demolition Boxing Challenge in Upper Sandusky.
In April, she continued her impressive streak with another TKO victory against Emerson Oney at Ruthless Made Promotions.
By the end of the month, she regained her focus on the Golden Gloves, winning a walkover in the first round and ultimately defeating Anabella Gilbert in what she described as her toughest fight yet, becoming a two-time Golden Gloves champion.
In May, Caelyn showcased her skills again at the Fight to Unite in Youngstown, where she earned another TKO victory over Liliana Sykes and brought home another championship belt along with the Best Sportsmanship trophy.
In June, she was set to compete for another belt in Lima, Ohio; however, her opponent withdrew just three days before the match. To prepare for future competitions, she trained by sparring with Mia Miller, finally achieving victory against her.
Looking ahead, Caelyn is gearing up for the Ohio State Fair taking place from July 24-26, where she will have the chance to fight for the championship each day. There are plans to help her gain exposure through out-of-state events to represent Ohio’s emerging female boxing talent.
To support her journey, Caelyn has set up a CashApp account ($Boxinglife2010) and will be launching a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of personalized boxing uniforms, gloves, shoes, and travel expenses.
Residing in Marion with her father, stepmother, six brothers, a sister, and nephew, Caelyn is preparing to start her freshman year at Marion Harding High School, all while chasing her boxing dreams.
