MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The MARMET Drug Task Force has seized a substantial amount of illegal narcotics, cash, and firearms following a series of five simultaneous drug trafficking investigations conducted over the past several weeks. The operation resulted in the execution of nine search warrants across Marion County.

The task force, comprising detectives and personnel from various partnering law enforcement agencies, successfully removed the following contraband from the streets:

  • Crack/Cocaine: 1,241 grams
  • Methamphetamine: 369 grams
  • Fentanyl: 5 grams
  • Controlled Pills: 94 doses
  • U.S. Currency: $14,425 in cash
  • Firearms: 2 guns

Several individuals involved in the cases have been arrested and charged, with all suspects currently facing first-degree felony charges. All cases will be forwarded to the office of Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan.

Marion Police Chief Jay McDonald praised the operation’s success. “This recovery of guns, drugs and money and the filing of multiple criminal charges is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our MARMET team and their partners,” Chief McDonald said. “We will continue this meaningful work to ensure the safety of our community.”

Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles echoed the sentiment, calling MARMET the best drug task force of its size in the state. “Anyone wishing to deal drugs in our community better be looking over their shoulders,” Sheriff Bayles stated, highlighting the task force’s relentless efforts.

Lt. Christopher Ellison of The Ohio State Highway Patrol also acknowledged the success, stating, “These results prove that the partnerships lead to safer communities for families to make home!”
