MARION COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW) — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for North Central Ohio as a storm system is expected to deliver the first measurable snowfall of the season beginning late Monday. The advisory warns of difficult travel conditions, especially during the Tuesday morning commute.
Monday is forecast to be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 34 degrees. Calm winds will become a light southeast breeze around 6 mph in the afternoon.
The main event begins tonight, with snow expected mainly after 10 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent, and forecasters are calling for new snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. The low will be around 26 degrees with a light east wind.
On Tuesday, the region has a chance of snow before noon, then a slight chance of snow showers between noon and 1 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and the high will be near 31 degrees. Total new snow accumulation Tuesday is expected to be less than one inch. The light north wind will shift to the northwest at 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
The rest of the week remains cold. Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of 21. Wednesday offers a return to partly sunny conditions with a high near 33, but a chance of snow showers returns Wednesday night with a low of 21 and a potential for less than a half-inch of new snow. Thursday is mostly sunny but cold, with a high near 25 and an overnight low dipping to around 8 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 30 and a chance of snow showers Friday night.
