About ArcelorMittal
ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading manufacturer of mechanically welded steel tubing, employing more than 191,000 people across 60 countries. ArcelorMittal ranks 146 on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world’s largest companies. Its Tubular Products Division operates plants in Mexico, Canada, and two locations in Ohio, including the Marion facility, all dedicated to producing high-quality steel tubing.
ArcelorMittal is a fully integrated steel manufacturer, involved in nearly every stage of the steelmaking process—from sourcing raw materials to producing finished steel products. The process begins with sourcing and processing raw materials such as iron ore, coal, and recycled steel scrap. These materials are converted into molten steel using advanced production methods, including blast furnaces, basic oxygen furnaces, and electric arc furnaces, depending on the facility and product requirements.
Once produced, the steel is refined to meet precise chemical and mechanical specifications. This enables ArcelorMittal to create steel with specific strength, durability, and performance characteristics needed for demanding applications. The steel is then formed through rolling, welding, and shaping to produce a wide range of products, including flat steel, long products, and tubular steel.
At the Marion plant, part of the Tubular Products Division, flat rolled steel is transformed into welded tubes using high-precision forming and Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) processes. These tubes are engineered to meet strict quality standards and serve industries such as automotive manufacturing, hydraulic systems, construction, energy, and agriculture. Finished tubes are either shipped directly to customers or cut to length using one of several cutting cells on-site. Throughout production, ArcelorMittal places strong emphasis on safety, quality control, and continuous improvement to ensure consistent reliability.
In addition to manufacturing, ArcelorMittal is committed to innovation and sustainability. ArcelorMittal invests in new technologies to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and maximize the use of recycled materials, supporting more sustainable steel production while meeting the needs of global industries.
