MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford-Marion ADAMH Board is preparing several community events for Mental Health Month, including county proclamations and a virtual panel focused on mental health in the workplace.

Marion County commissioners will issue their proclamation on May 7 at 9 a.m., with Crawford County’s date to be announced. “It’s good to have our elected officials recognize the importance of mental health and the role it plays in the community,” said Brad DeCamp, executive director of the ADAMH Board.

The board will also host a virtual mental‑health panel on May 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., expanding on last year’s strong turnout. This year’s discussion centers on workplace mental health and ties into a broader initiative targeting suicide prevention among men ages 25 to 54 — a group identified as high‑risk in Marion County.

DeCamp highlighted ManTherapy.org, an online tool offering an “18‑point head inspection” to help men assess stress, anxiety and overall mental well‑being. He noted that moderate anxiety is common and manageable when addressed early.

Residents experiencing suicidal thoughts are encouraged to call 988, and the board continues to promote counseling and local resources.
