MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Local theater troupe Rogue Theatrics is bringing its signature brand of uncensored comedy and live music to the Marion Palace Theater’s May Pavilion this weekend for the debut of “Summer Hoopla: Grills Gone Wild.”

The production, scheduled for June 26 and June 27 at 7:30 p.m., marks a new chapter for the three-year-old local theater group. Co-founder Daniel Bradshaw announced that he and Eric Mosley are taking over creative leadership of the organization following the recent retirement of co-founder Chip Gregory.

“Summer Hoopla” features completely original sketch comedy written by local regional writers alongside live musical performances by local band Rogues to Nowhere. Troupe organizers describe the show’s format as a live, unrated variety production akin to “Saturday Night Live” without television network sensors. Due to the mature nature of the original sketches, attendance is strictly limited to audiences aged 18 and older.

The production is heavily supported by community businesses, including title sponsor Pillar Credit Union, Chris Massey with Generations Realty, and local residents Ralph and Cathy Hill. Proceeds from ticket sales support the continuation of community-driven, affordable performing arts initiatives designed to spotlight local performance artists from Marion, Crawford, Morrow, and surrounding North Central Ohio counties.

Tickets for both evening performances are available for purchase online at marionpalace.org, via the venue box office at 740-383-2101, or at the door on the nights of the performances.
