MARION COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Harding Cheer Program, in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County, hosted a spirited White Out Basketball Game on January 25, raising $1,200 to support local youth programs. Additional donations are expected in the coming week.

The event, aimed at fostering school spirit and community involvement, will benefit the Boys & Girls Club’s programming, directly impacting students in Marion County. Special thanks were extended to Paul Kuzio of NorthStar Wheels for sponsoring the event, and Jean and Jess Wedding for providing White Out shirts for MCS Boys and Girls Club students.

“We are so grateful for the generous support of our community,” said Leslie Schneider, Regional Philanthropy Manager for the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County. “The Harding Cheerleaders and all those who purchased White Out T-shirts have made a lasting impact. This fundraiser helps us provide essential after-school programs that benefit over 800 students annually.”

The success of the event was attributed to the enthusiastic support of the MCS community, families, friends, and the Athletic Department. Special recognition was given to Christian Pearson and the MCS Social Media Department for their coverage, Jacob Hartman for coordinating with the band, and the basketball coaches and players for their dedication.

Evan Geyer, an MCS and Boys & Girls Club Board Member, and his wife Keri Geyer, have pledged to match donations up to $1,000, encouraging further support. Contributions can still be made through the Text to Give option by texting WIN2025 to 44-321.

The Boys & Girls Club continues to serve as a vital community resource, offering after-school programs at the Oak Street Clubhouse and River Valley locations.
